Transition to 4th Grade

Transition is never easy and after the challenging year we just had, it may be even more difficult.  That is why we, at CHCS, are doing several things to support students and families with the transition to fourth grade.

  • Introductory Video - In June, a video was shared with incoming grade 4 students.  The video was created by many of the Chestnut Hill faculty with whom students would typically be working in their fourth grade year.  This video serves as an introduction to the names and faces of those people.   Here is a link to that video:  https://youtu.be/bdUu_1TRP7Q
  • FAQ's - A list of common student questions for the grade 3 to 4 transition was developed and shared with students in June.  The answers were created by former students in conjunction with our guidance counselors.  Click here to access the FAQ document.
  • Welcome to the 2021-2022 School Year Packet - In early August, packets that contain information about placement, arrival and dismissal procedures and other important information were  mailed home.   Please review the packet carefully and let us know if you have any questions.
  • 4th Grade Orientation Night - On August 19th, CHCS held a 4th Grade Orientation NIght. It gave students and families a chance to become more familiar with CHCS and ask any questions that they had.  For those who were unable to make it, here is a link to the presentation.
  • Tours - Small group tours of CHCS to further familiarize students with the building were given to students new to the building in late August.  We also have a virtual tour available here for those who may feel more comfortable with that option.
